Who knew that Zappos was so much fun? Fortune Magazine recently released their annual list of Top 100 Best Companies to Work For and the fun loving, customer service savvy Zappos came in at #23 on the list. I can’t get enough of my Del.icio.us account and all the great new blogs that I have come across. I stumbled upon a few more last night that helped to satisfy the fashion and design lover in me.
We’re taking more big steps in the right direction and recently started working on branding for our new website and print. It’s been a really interesting, creative process and hope that it continues to be as we lock down the direction that we want to proceed in.
We just finished working with our amazing friend and client, Suzanne Hansen of Suzanne Hansen Photography, on a photo shoot in South Lake Tahoe. Not only was the shoot a ton of fun but we might also have some great photos to use on our new website. Be sure to take a peek at Suzanne’s Blog. If there’s one thing we love here at Albatross + Ivy Creative, it’s a good book. The last one that we read was so good in fact, that we felt the need to share just how much we loved it. Let My People Go Surfing: The Education of a Reluctant Businessman is an inspirational book that tells the story of Yvonne Chouinard and the history of Patagonia. Chouinard explains how he came to truly understand his company values and ethics all while telling the compelling story of his what it took to build a company that he can believe in.

These last few weeks have been very busy. We’ve been hard at work creating inspiration boards for our brand and purchasing a website. We also deposited our very first Albatross + Ivy check into our newly established Albatross + Ivy checking account. I understand that to most people, opening a new bank account seems like a lackluster way to spend an afternoon. Well, this time around, opening a bank account and knowing that it was for something that we’d worked so hard to create was nothing less than thrilling. I smiled the entire time it took for Alvin, from our local Bank of America, to establish our new account. The best news? Our shiny black cards arrived in the mail yesterday. You better believe I’ll be flashing my new card to all our family and friends! Big steps in the right direction…
We’ve done it! Our very first Albatross + Ivy Creative post and let me tell you- it feels pretty good. I feel like we’re very connected now. Not only is this the first post but I also signed up for a Del.icio.us account today. Started having trouble remembering all of the great blog addresses there are to visit.
Who knows where this new foray into blogging could take me. It all starts with a blog, then before you know it I have a subscription to Wired, an iPhone that you can’t pry from my quick texting little fingers and 30 new subscribers to my Twitter feed. It’s all very exciting.
